Is a Kringle something you regularly pick up when shopping at Trader Joe’s? It seems I usually only grab one during the holiday season and maybe in the spring, but it’s definitely not a weekly thing on my shopping list and I’m not sure why. It’s freaking delicious. Today we’re sharing Trader Joe’s Kringle flavors ranked from best to worst. Plus, when you can expect these flavors in store.
How Many Different Flavors of Kringle Does Trader Joe’s Carry?
Trader Joe’s regularly carries five different Kringle flavors throughout the year. I’ve personally never seen multiple flavors at one time in any of my local TJ’s.
The following are the five Trader Joe’s Kringle flavors and when they are typically expected to be sold in stores.
- Pecan (Late January or early February)
- Raspberry (April and May)
- Cheesecake (June and July)
- Pumpkin Caramel (September and October)
- Almond (November and December)
What is a Kringle?
A Kringle is an oval shaped pastry made with layers upon layers of buttery dough and spread with cream cheese or fruit filling throughout each delicate layer. The Kringle layers are very similar to the softest part of a croissant. The top of the Kringle ring is topped with icing and sometimes chopped nuts.
The ones Trader Joe’s sells in stores is made by O&H Danish Bakery in Wisconsin. They typically serve 12 and usually cost about $7.99.
This pastry also freezes beautifully. We often portion ours and freeze individually to enjoy later. You can eat them cold – not frozen – or warm them in an oven or microwave.
O&H Danish Bakery offers a ton of different flavors online and will ship direct to your home but it will also cost you a pretty penny upwards of $25.
