Many years ago, when we had a baby and a preschooler in the house, we started a tradition of Friday night movie nights. It began as a way for us to spend time with our three-year-old after the baby went to sleep. That baby and preschooler are now 9 and 12 and Friday night movie nights are still alive and well. Of course, now we have a rotating schedule of who gets to choose the movie.
We have an enormous binder full of our favorite movies. When new DVDs and BluRays are released, we snap them up to add to our collection. My husband jokes that in case of a fire, that’s the first thing we should grab as we’ve spent years accumulating a collection of all of our favorites. Naturally, we own each of the first three Toy Story films.
This year we have all been eagerly anticipating the release of Toy Story 4. The Toy Story franchise holds a special place in my heart, as I have distinct memories of seeing the movies in high school, college, and then right after the birth of my second child. (Go ahead and imagine how hard I cried during the incinerator scene of that movie when I was freshly postpartum. Then double whatever you’re picturing.)
Best Buy also knows that our kids fall in love with the characters in these movies and they have expanded their toy selection to include toys from popular movies like Toy Story. I am wishing I could go back in time and buy this space helmet for my son!
We can’t wait to hear what you think of Toy Story 4! I am excited that this is the sort of movie that everyone in the house is looking forward to and can’t wait to settle in with a giant bucket of popcorn. Let us know if you’ve seen the movie and then make sure to pre-order the Blu-Ray!
