Halloween Block Party Fun
My neighborhood is full of Halloween spirit. Even this Halloween Scrooge enjoys seeing everyone pull out all of their spiderwebs, orange lights, and cackling witches every October.
A few years ago we banded together with the neighbors on either side of us to plan a Halloween block party. It has been an annual tradition that everyone looks forward to.
Even with 60-100 people attending, it takes almost no time to put together between the three families
This year we have a taco guy coming. In the past we’ve ordered a million pizzas, but we’re trying something new and as the person who has to order a sad, cheeseless pizza for myself, I am thrilled with the change of plans.
How to host your own Halloween Block Party
If you want to do something like this for yourself, here’s the super short version. We send out a flier a week or two ahead of time with all of the information. (Sometimes we just send out a mass group text)
We do ask the neighbors to pitch in money for food and we provide the drinks, paper products and the location because our houses have a big open space that is perfect for this sort of thing. People are welcome to bring things but we don’t go crazy with food because the kids are all about to gorge themselves on candy.
We hang out for about an hour and a half and then everyone disperses to trick or treat.
