With the release of the Downton Abbey movie in just over one week, on September 20, it’s time to get down to the business of looking back on six seasons with the Crawleys.

If you’re anything like me, only the major plot points stuck in your mind after watching the series for the first time. I’ve spent the past couple of weeks rewatching the show, and it has been such a gift to be able to look more closely at some of the minor players. Sure, I was invested in Anna and Mr. Bates the first time around, but I was brought to tears during a scene with Mrs. Patmore and Daisy this time. I had forgotten how much I truly loved and missed these characters. Don’t get me started on Isis.
If you’re looking to catch up on Downton Abbey before seeing the movie, here’s everything you need to know:
Where to Watch Downton Abbey
I’m highly considering purchasing the DVDs so I’ll always be able to watch without being at the whims of streaming services. You can pick up the complete series at Target.
The entire series is currently streaming on Amazon Prime, and that’s the only place you’ll find the entire series streaming right now.
Hot tip!
Your local library probably stocks DVDs and they may own Downton Abbey as well. That’s how I originally watched the first two seasons of the series before it was streaming anywhere.
No time for a rewatch? Catch up with Downton in 5 minutes.
If you don’t have time for 6 seasons with the Crawleys (although I suggest you make time – the series really holds up to a rewatch) you can catch up with the help of this fantastic synopsis from PBS.
