In anticipation of BH90210, I’ve put together an ultimate guide to rewatching Beverly Hills, 90210 in the event you’ve never watched the original series or if you just want to walk down memory lane.
You have now idea how excited I am for the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot coming later this summer. I was 15 years old when 90210 premiered in October 1990. It was my show. I watched the complete series through its original run and I sobbed hysterically when it ended in May 2000. It wasn’t always perfect – drawn out storylines in the later seasons, stereotypes, plot inconsistencies, bad acting (I’m looking at you Noah Hunter) – but that didn’t stop me from rewatching the series several times over plus reruns just to have something familiar on my TV.

I lived for Beverly Hills, 90210. It is likely my all-time favorite television show and it’s wild to think that nearly 30 years later I am here for the BH90210 reboot.
90210 Series Recap Refresher
Here’s a quick run-through all ten season of Beverly Hills, 90210 for those who might need a refresher. Don’t skip this…there are some gems in there!
Season One
Walsh fam moves west to BH from Minnesota. Brandon and Brenda meet new high school friends, teen trouble ensues. Brandon learns how to surf and also learns Dylan McKay is a recovering alcoholic. Brenda and her friends shoplift and get busted. Brandon’s hunny from home comes for a visit and they get freaky for the first time. A few filler eps with no real story significance except Brenda dyes her hair orange in an attempt to attract Dylan. Woah! Kelly’s mom caught doing blow in the bathroom during the West Bev fashion show!
Cindy Walsh reminisces with an old BF. Brenda volunteers at a rape hotline and breaks the rules by answering the phone after closing time. Jim and Cindy are propositioned to swing while Brenda throws a party at Casa Walsh. Brandon also drinks and drives, wrecks his car and goes to jail in this episode. Plus, gets real righteous about having to ride a ten-speed bike now that he wrecked Mondale.
Joey, baby. Brandon falls for a teen mom. Two words: SLUMBER PARTY (it really is one of the season’s best episodes)! A couple more filler episodes. Brenda sleeps in a hotel supply closet in Palm Springs. Brandon’s blading skills land him a role in a teen drama. Brenda moves out and tries to become a stand up comedian. The breast cancer episode.
Brandon suspects Chandler Bing of possibly trying to kill his own dad. Another filler episode followed by the second best episode of the season: the Spring Dance where Brenda loses her V-card to Dylan while wearing an identical dress as Kelly. Walshes consider moving back to Minnesota, Andrea offers up a “goodbye present” to Bran the Man, Brenda thinks she might be pregnant, Jim decides Beverly Hills is the place for them.

Best Beverly Hills, 90210 Podcast
Level up your 90210 experience with an episode by episode podcast. The best Beverly Hills, 90210 podcast out there comes from Again With This hosted by Tara Ariano and Sarah D. Bunting. These two bring an expert evaluation of the characters and storylines. I would highly recommend Again With This if you plan on rewatching the series. You’ll get a good laugh from their visual aids and realize what a mansplaining bro Brandon really is.
Cast Members Spill the Tea in Memoirs
This post contains affiliate links.
Jason Priestly spilled the tea in his 2015 memoir about the infamous red dress photo shoot fight between Shannen, Jennie and Tori. Of all the memoirs written by former cast member, I would definitely recommend Jason Priestly: A Memoir if you’re looking for juicy on-set drama.
Both Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling have also written memoirs about their early days acting and their experience on 90210. Tori’s 2008 sTORI Telling was really quite funny and enjoyable. You can skip Jennie Garth’s Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde. While she dishes on the cat fights and on-set drug use, the memoir is super clunky and disappointing.
Beverly Hills, 90210 Fangirl Favorites
A few years ago, Old Navy had back-to-school commercials featuring many from the original cast. They also released a bunch of logo t-shirts that I still occasionally wear. But, Etsy has a couple of great t-shirts (I already ordered this one for premiere night)! Scroll down to see some favorites.
Dylan McKay, y’all. He was definitely the first bad boy we loved, right? I was devastated when Luke Perry died earlier this year. Here are a few fangirl faves for our favorite bad boy.
Now, for the biggest BH90210 fans. You gotta check this stuff out! Coloring pages (yes, I’ve downloaded these already!), needlepoint, cookie cutters! I am dying over the watercolor prints where you can digitally download paintings of Casa Walsh, the Beach Apartment, the Peach Pit and the counter inside the Peach Pit.
Will you watch the reboot of BH90210? As much as I love the idea of throwing a huge themed watch party, I think I’ll watch alone in a pair of men’s silk pajamas and a bowl of ice cream and popcorn mixed together.
