We have enjoyed the Target Beauty Box for years. There’s something about a box of fresh beauty samples that just makes us gasp with delight. What can we say, we’re easily pleased. Just in time for the holidays, Target has launched a series of Best of Boxes, featuring a number of beauty favorites.
Since Target has not released a new beauty box since this summer, we are excited for these new best of boxes that are all currently listed as coming soon on the Target Website

2021 Update: Target appears to have switched directions again and now they are offering Target Beauty Capsules. These are still in line with the spirit of the original Target Beauty Box and they have several options available for $14.99. See them all on Target’s website.
What is a Target Best of Box?
Target has curated boxes in several categories featuring some of their best-sellers. The boxes contain between 3-10 products, and cost $14.99 The exception to this price point is Target’s 12 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar which is $19.99 and contains, wait for it, 12 items.
When can I get a Target Best of Box?
These target beauty boxes will go on sale online and in-store on October 25th. If years past are any indication, in-store quantities will be limited. However, we’ve never seen this variety of boxes offered, so perhaps that will spread out the demand a bit.
What products are in the Target Best of Boxes?
Best of Box Hair Edition
This might my second favorite box in the collection. With two shampoos, two conditioners, two dry shampoos, a texture spray and a pack of hair ties, this box is loaded with value and brands that I really like, including Kristin Ess. Waterless is a newcomer to the dry shampoo scene and I’m always looking for the brand that will knock Batiste out of it’s place as my one true dry shampoo.
Cosmetics Best of Box for the Holidays
Cosmetics are the hardest products to create a curated box for in my opinion, because everyone likes and needs different colors to suit their taste and skin tone. I’m excited to see a Butter Gloss mini in this collection. The e.l.f. eyeshadow performs surprisingly well for a $4 product. I also love the inclusing of false lashes – they’re a little understated as far as falsies go, so even beginners can get in on the lash game.
Best of Box Mascara Edition
Easily the collection I am most excited for is the box of six mascaras. 5 of them are full sized and the Well People mascara is a deluxe sample. Target offered a similar collection last year and I immediately bought it for myself for a stocking stuffer. I love a drugstore mascara and I change out my mascara quite often.
Best of Box Skincare Edition
You’ll find several drugstore favorite brands in this collection including Cerave, Cetaphil, Aveeno, and a spray from Aquaphor that I’ve never seen before that certainly has my interest piqued. While this collection isn’t going to blow anyone away with excitement it is full of staple products that would be good for adding to a gym or travel bag, stocking a guest bathroom, sending in a college care package, or simply trying out new products.
Best of Box Clean Edition
Fans of clean beauty products will like this collection which features Pacifica and Acura along with Bliss and Tresemme hair products with a surprise clean beauty billing.
Cetaphil Best Sellers Target Box
The Cetaphil Best Sellers Collection is the only brand specific collection at this point. It features my personal favorite Daily Facial Cleanser along with two moisturizers. While these are certainly marketed as gifts, if this is a brand you regularly use, it’s worth purchasing this box to get your favorites at a discount.
Target 12 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar
Wendy and I always go wild for the 12 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar. The contents aren’t a surprise, so you can decide ahead of time if you’re interested in what you’ll find behind each of the 12 doors. Brands like Pixi and Lumene are Advent calendar regulars, but I see Soap and Glory, Bliss, and even a Real Techniques Beauty Sponge also included this year.
