As a follow up to our summer reading roundup from yesterday, today we’re all about summer reading for kids. My daughter is the sort of kid who is never not reading. She brings a book in the car always, but also to Angel games, the beach, and even the dinner table if she can get away with it. She is 100% my kid in that regard. I never leave home without a book in my purse just in case I have a few minutes to kill. And, just like I make my own Summer Reading list, this year Wendy and I thought it would be fun to make a list for our girls. A huge thanks to American Girl for sending us the books for our Summer Reading Guide and, get excited folks, one lucky winner will win all of the books in our guide! Details about the giveaway can be found at the end of this post.
Luciana – Pick up the first book in the Luciana series for your little STEM lover. We have been fans of Luciana ever since she was announced as the girl of the year and we know our girls are going to love this series of books about our favorite space camper.
A Smart Girls Guide to Liking Herself – As our tween girls race toward adolescence we want to send them as many messages about positive self-esteem as we can, and hearing about it from a source other than mom is always a good thing.
A Year of Mini-Mysteries – Perfect for solving alone or with a buddy, this would make a great road-trip activity or something for a day when it’s just too hot to be outside.
Tear Up This Book – This book quite literally begs to be ruined. With activities to tear out, fold up, stick together and draw on, your kids will have a full set of crafts and projects right inside this book.
Nanea: The Legend of the Shark Goddess – Historical fiction that’s perfect for summer with an island flair. If a Hawaii trip is in your summer plans, this is the perfect book for the plane!
Puzzle Palooza – Another fun activity book, this time chock full of puzzles to keep minds sharp while having fun.
And now for the giveaway. One lucky winner will win all six books mentioned in this post. Winners must live within the United States or Canada. Enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck!
