We can’t not talk about Stranger Things in this month’s Netflix Stream Team post? The internet is blowing up today because Netflix just announced that the cult fave will be back in 2017 for a second season. Theories abound after this teaser was dropped on YouTube.
We’ve rounded up some of the best things about Stranger Things, including the soundtrack and the costumes. Halloween is coming, friends. You will win Halloween as Barb.
Stranger Things Soundtrack
Netflix created a Stranger Things playlist on Spotify. Truth is, I detest the big hits from the 1980’s. I might gag myself with an Eggo if I hear Cindy Lauper ever again. Lucky for me, the Stranger Things soundtrack features cuts from Joy Division, Echo & the Bunnymen, Jefferson Airplane and New Order. There are a few cringe worth songs – I’m looking at you Corey Hart – but overall it’s a solid soundtrack that brilliantly characterizes the era.
Dress like the Stranger Things Cast this Halloween
Looking for inspiration on how to dress like Barb, Nancy or Eleven this Halloween? Lindsay at Shrimp Salad Circus has put together what we think is the best guide for dressing like the cast of Stranger Things. Ruffled shirts, high-waisted jeans, tan Member’s Only jackets, digital watches and so much more. I’ll admit…I’m currently shopping Barb’s outfit.
We can’t forget to mention the renaissance Ms. Winona Ryder is currently having as well. For those of us who grew up in the 80’s and on Winona Ryder movies, I’m happy to see her on my screen again. Netflix is currently streaming Heathers (one of my favorite movies of all time!), The Crucible, How to Make An American Quilt, and Mr. Deeds.
Can you wait until next year for another season of Stranger Things? Until then, check out our Ultimate Guide to Re-watching Gilmore Girls (debuting on Netflix on November 25), Bates Motel, Parenthood, Orange is the New Black and West Wing.
This is a non-sponsored post. We are part of the Netflix #StreamTeam and received a subscription to stream from their incredible library of television, movies, documentaries and original programming. All opinions are our own.
