Perhaps you caught our less than stellar review of the April 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box? We’re committed to giving our honest opinions around here, but while it’s funny in the moment, I wouldn’t say it’s fun to deliver a negative assessment of a product we normally love. This POPSUGAR subscription was a gift from my mother so I kind of feel like a jerk knocking it on account of that, too. All of that to say, I had high hopes for this next POPSUGAR box. It’s the last in my current subscription, so I wanted to go out on a high note.
The May Must Have box arrived in the new, much larger box. Do good things come in big packages? I think our reviews on this one were mixed, although I will tell you that it was MUCH improved. There wasn’t a stand out amazing product in this box, but there were a collection of smaller, pleasant to receive items. (Along with one giant bummer – the entire need for this giant box – and an embarrassing amount of bubble wrap.)

What’s Inside?
Happy Spritz Breathe Deeply Essential Oil Spray – This smells heavenly, although I’m not sure it’s something I need. I’m going to keep it bedside for a little morning pick-me-up.
Spongelle Spongology Body Buffer – These are kind of gimmicky, but I will confess to using the last one of these I received. It’s a good reminder to toss your sponge before it has the chance to get moldy and gross – toss it once the soap is gone.
Kocostar Foot Therapy – Hello sandal season. Will definitely use these.
Bluma Project Bracelets – Cute! I liked these and will wear them.
Jimmy Bar Peanut Butter Clutter Bar – I liked this!
Gaiam Foldable Yoga Mat – Meh. I think that if you do yoga you already have a yoga mat. Receiving a yoga mat in a subscription box probably won’t be the thing that gets you to do yoga if you already don’t. And this is a travel yoga mat of all things. This was my least favorite item in the box.
Hint Caffeine Kick Water – I’m definitely intrigued by this, although I’m really a one cup of coffee per day sort of lady, unless I want to be jittery and anxious. I am happy with the flavor we received, because I’m seeing other flavors and thinking this will be the best one. I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s in my refrigerator for a day when I’m feeling brave.
Revlon Volume Length Magnified Mascara – I current have four open tubes of mascara, so I won’t be opening this one for a while, but I love a new drugstore mascara. Fingers crossed that this is a good one.
