I am a loyal fan of The Real Housewives of Orange County. It’s not one of my better qualities, but there you have it. A few years ago they had a painting party at Timree art studio and I have wanted to go ever since. Paint night places are all over the place around here but I find myself looking at their options and not being interested in what they’re painting AT ALL. If I’m going to spend the time painting, I would like it to be something that I might potentially hang in my house.
Last summer I finally bit the bullet and booked a class for my mom’s birthday and loved it so much I went right back for my own birthday the next month. I have tried to make plans to go back since, and it has never worked out. Then, this summer they offered a class pass for 6 classes at a pretty fantastic rate (when you take into account the usual cost of her classes) and I jumped all over it. I made Wendy sign up with me and we had the first of our six classes last week.
I would not consider myself an artistic person. I am not creatively inclined, but I like being crafty sometimes. These classes are perfect for me. They walk you through your project with the goal of everything being messy and imperfect. It’s pretty much impossible to ruin your project. I LOVE it there. (Plus you’re free to bring your own wine.)
Yes, from what I’ve seen, Timree is more expensive than a lot of the other similar establishments around here. Classes are typically $50 or $60, although she often has coupon codes. The cost difference for me is more than made up for in the fact that her designs are cute and right up my alley. Also, every single thing I’ve painted is on display in my house and I think the fact that I’ll have 8 classes under my belt by the end of this summer, it is something that I find to be pretty well worth the time and money.
This is not sponsored, in any way. I’ve paid for all of my Timree classes myself (and will continue to do so!) But if you’re local you definitely need to put this little art studio on your list.
