Back in May we attend the Mom 2.0 Summit in Laguna Niguel. This conference has been on our must attend list for a while, and when they announced that it was coming back to Orange County we knew we had to make it happen. For me it was a scheduling nightmare and my original plans for childcare fell through. I had to drive home at 5:30 every morning to drive my kids to school, then hustle back to the conference. So, for anyone who imagines that this was three relaxing days on the beach without a care in the world, I wish I had a picture of me retrieving my car from the valet in my pajamas each day.
That said, we had a great time. Wendy and I went with a goal in mind and came away from the conference feeling refreshed and ready to make things happen over here. (Could someone tell me where that motivation went? It appears to be on summer vacation.)
While we were at the conference we had a chance to sit down in the Kia Suite and talk about motherhood. We got real during out interview and I was a little disappointed to see that some of what we talked about didn’t fit their narrative. Still, we made the cut in other areas and a few of our moments are featured in two of the videos.
First up, we talked balance. I will tell you right now that I think balance is a joke and a myth and something that people only talk to women about. Go ahead, ask a dad when the last time someone asked him about how he finds balance in his life. I am perfectly okay with accepting that balance is not a thing that I’m striving for.
