Last week I stopped into Old Navy with some time on my hands and took a million things into the dressing room. I’m a big fan of Old Navy and have some serious faves from the store, but I find that I have to try on everything because you just never can be sure.
I tried on a LOT, and I came home with a good amount of stuff. They were having a good sale, and my personal policy is not to buy anything from Old Navy for less than 30% off. I go between a medium and a large at Old Navy, so I’ll let you know how sizing works on all of these things.
First things first, they have a tank version of my favorite boyfriend tee! Unfortunately I can’t find it online yet. I bought this charcoal color pictured here in a medium. I’ll go back, but this was the one and only thing I bought that wasn’t on sale – and I’m waiting for a deal.
Linen Mini – Great alternative to shorts. Big fan of Old Navy linen. Bought the stripes and the black in medium.
Drapey Tassel Shorts – LOVED these. They’re comfortable and lightweight and I only wish they had more prints. I bought these in a large.
Pull-on Linen Midi Skirt – NOPE. Fail. Wrong length/wrong cut for me.
Fit & Flare Tank Dress – UGH. I wanted to love this. The fabric has a nice weight to it which I thought would help it not cling to everything. Unfortunately the medium showed every lump and bump and the large (pictured) was too big and gapey.
Pleated Crepe Dress – This was so comfortable but such a fail. The pleats were never going to look good, it was weirdly longer in the front than back, and was just sort of frumpy feeling.
Cocoon Embroidered Yoke Chambray Dress – I dithered about this dress (chambray dresses can go in a terrible direction quickly,) but now really love it. I bought it in a medium.
Sheer Patterned Tunic – Fail. The medium was way too tight and the large was too big.
Linen Dress – I can’t find this dress online, but that’s for the best. The fit isn’t terrible, but it is the scratchiest material ever. Imagining wearing this in the dead heat of summer made me want to cry.
Not Pictured HITS
Wide Leg Linen Pants – These were a last minute impulse purchase, although I’ve stared at them every time I’m in the store.
Open-Front Ribbed Cocoon Sweater – I bought this in black in a medium for throwing on over tanks and dresses.
Cuffed Linen Shorts – I thought I brought home a pair of these but it turns out that I didn’t, nor did I remember to take a picture. They had a similar style last year and this year’s style is better – a little bit longer, with a better fit. The medium in these fit perfectly so when they’re on sale again I’ll grab them in a couple colors.
