Happy November everyone! You know I am thrilled that we are now in the Christmas season as far as I’m concerned. Sure, I love Thanksgiving, but I love it as part of Christmas, not a separate event. We can agree to disagree on this one.
Halloween was pretty fantastic with one minor hiccup and that was that my costume did not fit. At all. Not even Spanx could save me. I had a rather spectacular breakdown away from my children, called my husband and could hardly speak through my tears. I’m not sure why it bugged me so much, but I had committed to dressing up this year and aside from the body issues that clothes not fitting will bring screaming to the surface, I was genuinely disappointed to be in character.
My husband offered to pick up another costume on his way home (because at 5pm on Halloween, I’m sure there were plenty of suitable options.) I passed on that option and right before I threw my jeans back on and gave up on the idea of dressing up, I called him back and asked if he still had a costume from a few years ago.
Thank goodness for my sentimental husband because that Waldo costume was comfortable and cute and totally saved my mood. My daughter went bananas over the costume and that pretty much made my day. Even Wendy went trick or treating in costume this year. Hooray for little things that thrill our kids!
We had our fourth annual block party and it was a success and is by far the easiest party I throw every year. Everyone helps, and the addition of a taco guy, rather than a million pizzas was a huge hit. Every year my kids surprise me by only wanting to trick or treat for a little while and then head back home and continue the fun with all of their friends.
Now that October is behind us I’m looking forward to November and setting some goals.
No Soda or Fast Food.
None. At all. For any reason.
Workout at least three days per week, every week.
I feel slow and sluggish. I want to sleep well and feel strong!
Blog every weekday for the month of November!
I have done this before and always end up loving it so much. Let us know if you’re joining us this month in (almost) daily writing.
Finish holiday shopping by December 1.
I’m not going to beat myself up over this one, but I am going to make it a goal to attempt to get as far ahead on my shopping as possible since my kids get out of school SO EARLY this year and my December shopping time is pretty limited.
Make a Thanksgiving Dinner before Thanksgiving.
We’re not hosting this year, which means no leftovers! We’ll have to make our own dinner just to enjoy turkey sandwiches for days.
What are you goals this month?
Ok! I’m with you guys on the no sodas, working out, and we’re hosting a friendsgiving so I’m set! But first my cold needs to go away!
Feel better, Cam! We’ve got it here, too. – Wendy
