Wendy and I are heading into a new phase of life – our kids are getting older faster than we can come to terms with it! But, that doesn’t mean that we don’t remember the days of packing elementary school lunch boxes and adding a little love with these sweet lunch box notes printables!
As summer comes screeching to a halt, I know many of us – myself included – have mixed emotions. I love the lazy, unscheduled days of summer, but I also crave a routine and, let’s be honest, a little alone time. Summer for me means that not only are my kids home, but my husband is too.
We fell into a perfect non-routine of laziness, swimming, reading, popsicles and ice cream sandwiches, and movies on the couch when it got too hot to be outside. Having an extra adult around full-time feels luxurious, too.
All of that said, I won’t be heartbroken for the first day of school. I never am. I love a new beginning and clean lunchboxes and the chance to make new friends and fill up new notebooks.

I made these lunch box notes printables YEARS ago and thought it was time to dust them off and post them again. They’re such a fun way to bring a smile to your kids’ faces at lunch time.
I am not the sort of Pinterest mom that cuts sandwiches into cute shapes, or sends themed lunches for every holiday. My son doesn’t even like he sandwiches cut in HALF, much less artfully arranged.
But having a few notes on hand that require nothing more than me tossing them on top of their snack? Well, that I can do and you can do.
