I have rarely seen Megan without nail polish. She might consider herself “Classic with a Twist” but I would envy her bold color choices – especially anything blue.
I’ve worn my nails naked since I gave up acrylic nails in the early 1990s. It wasn’t until last spring that I decided to get my nails done at the salon. I can remember sitting at my daughter’s gymnastic class that day hiding my bright coral fingertips. I was so completely out of my comfort zone.
I soon realized that my painted nails made my hands feel more feminine. Regular salon manicures turned to longer lasting gel manicures and I was going broke. Megan asked why I didn’t just paint them at home myself.
My answer was because I’ve never been able to paint my nails. It would always end up looking like a toddler did them. Megan’s advice was that I needed to practice and she was right. My home manicures are definitely improving and great nail polishes make it easier.
We recently unboxed two nail polish subscription boxes. Julep and SquareHue.
Julep and SquareHue are monthly subscription boxes. We thought one of these boxes might come out a clear winner but we loved what each had to offer.
Julep is $24.99 per month and you receive two nail polishes plus one beauty product. Each box is curated based of your own custom profile.
SquareHue ranges from $16 – $21 per month. Subscribers can choose between 2 or 3 nail polishes and the price reflects that choice. Each box is curated based on style and trend.
Both companies offer nail polishes that are 5-free and 7-free and we can certainly appreciate that. But with so many gorgeous and affordable drugstore nail polish options available, would you subscribe to a monthly box?
We say, why not both?
