We’re only human so naturally we’re drawn to all of the beautifully packaged beauty gift sets available at retailers this holiday season! But, it’s important to acknowledge that while some are great, some are just…not. Here are the holiday beauty gift sets we recommend!

On a recent episode of our podcast just for Patreon subscribers, we discussed the holiday beauty sets that we’re most looking forward to giving and receiving this year!
Here’s a roundup of the greatest hits in holiday beauty set world from makeup, skincare and fragrance!
What to look for in a Holiday Beauty Set
And what to avoid!
- Don’t get drawn in by pretty packaging alone. Often times the “valued at price” will make you think you’re getting a good deal, when in fact the set has been padded with junk like stickers and nail files.
- Be clear what you’re getting! A set of your favorite lip gloss brand might be a great deal, until you realize that the colors are nothing to write home about.
- Just because it’s a good “deal” doesn’t mean it’s a good deal for you! If the set is half-full of items you’ll never use, all of a sudden it’s not a great deal at all.
Holiday Gift Sets at Target
Target is a bit of a let down this year, but it’s not a total loss.
Four masks for $15! We love the mini size so we can try them all. Great for traveling, or just trying out new formulas.
Peter Thomas Roth is known for their killer masks. This is a great way to try them out without committing to a full size!
This isn’t the most exciting set on the list, but if you love a bath, we love Dr. Teal’s products.
Beauty Gift Sets at Ulta
Perfect for the tween or teen who’s just getting in to makeup and wants to play! Worth it for the Caboodles alone!
We love First Aid Beauty. While this set is a bit pricey it’s also full of great products that we love to get a deal on.
HUGE fan of these moisturizing balms with a wash of color. Perfect for every day wear!
Get give bestsellers for under $20 in this fun set from Soap & Glory – a drugstore brand we both love.
Now is the time to stock up on new brushes if you need them. Real Techniques makes great brushes at a great price. Bonus: these aren’t covered in candy canes or something else obnoxious.
A few more sets we wouldn’t mind finding in our stocking on Christmas morning!
Holiday Beauty Sets at Sephora
Sephora always brings it every year, especially with their exclusive Sephora Favorites Sets.
Fragrance Gift Sets at Sephora
This set comes with six perfume minis to try plus a certificate for a travel size bottle of your favorite from the set – to be redeemed in store!
Similar to the set above, but this time you’re getting bigger samples plus a bigger final product! Choose your favorite and get a full bottle of perfume!
More scents! Try nine iconic scents from the REPLICA line for $39!
We love the feel of a cleansing balm when it’s time to take off our makeup. Farmacy is a great brand, and grab this opportunity to try a few things for a bargain!
Beauty Sets at Kohl’s!
But wait! Kohl’s has a Sephora collaboration! Although some of the sets are “Sephora for Kohl’s” and therefore slightly different, they are still full of great brand at a great price.
Buy this for the Fenty Gloss Balm alone!
This sold out at Ulta and Sephora immediately, but is still in stock at Kohl’s. Four Juicy Lips for $39 is like getting two for free!
