It’s no secret how much we love to shop for drug store makeup. In fact, just today, I was furiously texting Megan from CVS to see if she had yet seen the new Wet n Wild Spring 2017 Spring Collection. I certainly don’t need anything but I couldn’t walk away from grabbing the highlighter powders and cheek tint. What is wrong with me?
Last month, we did a massive drug store haul and both of us are still working our way through the new products. My process is to set everything new aside in a separate container and then periodically pull products out to try. So, when you buy four new foundations and twelve new lip colors, it takes a minute to get through it all. Know what I mean?
What do we love so far? And what is a hard pass? Watch our Drug Store Make Up Hits and Misses video and see for yourself.
There were a lot of products we really liked and we’re sharing a few links below so you can grab your own (Affiliate links ahead. Thanks for clicking through!).
First, the Revlon Kiss Balm. I sort of bagged on these when Megan previously shared them because I had been using the Coconut flavor for a few weeks and found they don’t totally moisturize my lips. Yet, I loved the sheer wash of color from the Strawberry flavor. Same goes for Megan. She loved the Cherry and Sugar Plum flavors.
The number of drug store foundations we try is ridiculous. I raved about the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow in this video but it has since been bumped for a brand new favorite that I can’t wait to tell you about in our February favorites! I’m sure I’ll circle back to the Pro Glow the closer we get to summer. Megan has had so much success from several of Rimmel’s foundations. She loves what the BB cream is doing for her these days.
We are brow enthusiasts and never leave the house without framing our face. Megan likes using a waxy pencil like the NYX Micro Brow on her fair brows where I prefer a powder. However, I’ve been looking for more oomph and both the Wet n Wild brow mascara (I still hate they are calling this a mascara!) and Maybelline Brow Precise Volumizer have been fun to play with. I’m still not certain about the shades but I like what they do.
What about those liquid matte lipsticks from Wet n Wild and Jordana? Click on over to our matte lipstick swatch and review video to see us try on several colors.
Tell us…are we the only ones browsing the drug store aisles for the newest products? Do you know the gal behind the beauty counter by name (Hi, Faye!)? Did you also get the inside scoop on why it’s impossible to find the Wet n Wild Gel Lip Liners? (pssst…we did!).
