It’s barely the end of August and the Halloween decor at Target is already starting to fill the shelves. Though you might not yet be ready for spooky season, today we’re sharing some favorites from the various Target collections.
Now am I the only one who vows every single year that I won’t buy another Halloween or fall decoration for my home? I always reason that I need to pull out my storage bins to see what I have before adding to it. But, I don’t unbox my Halloween stuff until October and by then all the spooky decor has given way to Christmas.
Last night I found myself favoriting so many new cute decorations from Target’s Halloween Shop. Here’s a look at some things that got my heart racing.
Changing Up Your Halloween Aesthetic
Am I the only person who gets bored year after year with the same holiday decor?
I know a lot of people feel sentimental about decorations, but I prefer to change things up considering what I’m feeling inspired by. For many years, we did cutesy Halloween decor because my daughter was young. These days I’d rather compliment my regular home decor with touches of Halloween.

Spooky Halloween Decor from Target
I really love traditional orange and black when it comes to Halloween home decor. Give me something with a vintage vibe and I’m in heaven. Spooky haunted houses, an ominous black raven, or a bottle marked with a poisonous label.
Outdoor Halloween Decorations from Target
While I love a styrofoam R.I.P sign in my yard, you won’t find any life-like Michael Myers dummies on my porch. It’s scary-light at our home.
What Comes First: Fall or Halloween?
I have to remind myself that summer is barely over and the fall decorations can wait another month. But when October 1st hits, I’m unsure if I go full Halloween all month long or focus solely on fall vibes first.
This year I think I’m leaning towards a few fall-themed accents in late September. Think apple picking, college football, and cozy throw pillows.

Come mid-October I’ll swap it out with Halloween decorations and then replace that all in November with more fall and a heavy dose of Thanksgiving.
Halloween in Target’s Dollar Spot
We all love the Dollar Spot. Where else can you find a $3 felt pumpkin or a cute little sign.
New for 2022: The items in Target’s Dollar Spot / Bullseye’s Playground will not be available online. In previous years, you were able to find the Dollar Spot’s very affordable Halloween-themed stuff online. Not anymore.
