We here at Long Story Short are no strangers to a taste test, and over the years we have yet to meet a candy we wouldn’t taste test. For your viewing pleasure, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite Halloween Taste Tests!
A History of Taste Tests
One of our earliest videos on YouTube was a See’s Candies taste test. It was a one-off idea. Wendy grabbed some lollipops, we tasted them on camera and laughed like loons. From that was born a tradition of tasting both some seriously delicious things, as well as some truly terrible things. Let’s all have a moment of silence for the time we innocently tasted durian candy.

Since then we’ve done a LOT of taste tests, but every year we come back to some Halloween favorites. See’s Candies have been a regular feature.
Russel Stover Pumpkin Taste Test
Who can forget the many, many Russell Stover Pumpkins? Who knew Orange Marshmallow would be the standout favorite? I would like to go back in time to two years ago me, because I can hardly believe I liked such a thing.
Halloween Peeps Taste Tests
Last year I completely lost my mind in the candy aisle and ruined Peeps for myself forever. I hate that Peeps is now dipping their once delicious marshmallow candies in a (usually white chocolate) base. Ruined. Forever. Goodbye, Peeps, I hardly knew ye.
Halloween Candy Taste Tests
Finally, that brings us to this week’s lastest Halloween candy challenge. Wendy went on the hunt for stuffed Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I didn’t even know such a thing existed, and much like I wish Oreo would just stick with what works, I also think Reese’s is a practically perfect candy and should just be left alone.
As you can see I was forced to eat my words, as well as the entirety of that giant peanut butter cup as it was suprisingly DELICIOUS! I still think the Reese’s Pumpkin wins for my favorite Halloween peanut butter cup, but I won’t kick these out of my pantry. (Or my freezer, as that’s where I keep most of my chocolate candy.) I would hide them from my husband better, next time!
