We recently put out a call for gift guide requests on Instagram and we got several great ideas. Many of you wanted a gift guide for grandparents and my first reaction was “I know, right?” My parents are the hardest people on my list to buy for. They’re generally happy just to spend time with us during the holidays, they need absolutely nothing, and, quite frankly, their tastes often exceed my budget. This, however, is not a lost cause. We’ve searched high and low for some great gifts for the grandparents in your life.

The Best Gifts for Grandparents
Custom House Portrait – Every year there are a few gifts that I just swoon over, hoping that so many people choose these gifts. (I love everything on our guides, but some things I extra special love.) The first two items on our guide fall into that category. Up first are these custom house portraits. Choose a childhood home, a special vacation home, anything that sparks warm memories, and Erin can bring them to live with her portraits.
Felt Photo Portrait – I have loved the whimsical felt portraits and ornaments from Eleanor Roosefelt for a long time. She also offers house portraits! Choose from a family photo or one of a beloved pet, and she can bring them to life in felt. It’s the gift you didn’t know you were missing in your life.
Wooden Scrabble – This is definitely a splurge and definitely requires the right recipient, but what a gift. We have the Monopoly version and I can attest to the fact that this a a beautiful and useful showpiece.
No Matter the Miles Ornament – A sweet reminder that you’ll always be in each other’s hearts. This is especially poignant in COVID times, but certainly applies to all families who might not live next door to each other.
Gardener’s Tool Seat – Grandparent who loves to putter in the garden? Upgrade their tool situation!
Automatic Handbag Illuminator – That’s a fancy name for “purse light.” It senses when your hand is near and will light up on it’s own! A simple touch will also bring the light to life.
Ember Mug – Okay, the truth is that this thing is ridiculous, but maybe it’s just the right amount of ridiculous? Save them a trip to the microwave and ensure that their coffee or tea is just right, all the time.
Grandparent Pen Pal Set – For the grandparent that loves a project. Keep them in touch with their favorite grandkids with this sweet set.
Holiday Village Puzzle – Visiting with grandparents for the holidays? Give them something to do with the kids while everyone waits for dinner to be ready. This wooden puzzle can be taken out year after year.
Personalized Coasters – Grandparents love to show off their grandkids, and we think even a framed photo makes a great gift. That said, photo gifts can veer into super tacky territory, super fast – no matter how cute the baby smiling back at you. Coasters are a great, useful way to show off your favorite faces, without going full blown photo blanket, you know?
