Recently my husband and I found ourselves without our children in a mall, and it was one of those magical days where I walked into a store and saw tons of things I would love to have. Fortunately, I also had a few minutes to try a few things on, so I grabbed them and ran. I didn’t buy anything because I wasn’t in the mood to spend money on myself, but I really wanted to just keep taking more things in and trying them on. Also, nothing in this bunch made me want to run out of the dressing room in tears, which is what happened the last time I found myself in this particular dressing room, so yay for New Year’s Resolutions!
Scallop sleeve tassel top – I LOVED this top. Ignore the black bralette I was wearing – I know it looks ridiculous. This was lightweight and flowy and felt like the perfect summer top.
Twill summer shorts – These shorts were a little short for my personal comfort level but they’re pretty cute. I didn’t see any other length in store, other than bermuda which isn’t my favorite length.
Softspun knit stripe t-shirt dress – This Softspun knit lives up to its name. It’s soft, comfortable, and has a nice weight to it which helps keep it from clinging the way jersey is known to do. If my closet were full of nothing but dresses in this style I would be thrilled to get dressed every single day from July through October.
Softspun knit wide-leg jumpsuit – I did not realize that this was wide-leg, nor did I notice that it was cropped, otherwise I never would have taken it into the dressing room. I don’t think this picture fully portrays just what an awful choice this was on me. It was NOT good. That said, it was comfortable, oh so comfortable and I really wanted to wear it home.
Linen split-neck tank – This tank, in multiple colors, could easily become my summer uniform. It’s loose, flowy, and just interesting enough to not be another boring tank top.
For size reference, I tried in a medium in everything you see here. I think the tank could have been sized down, but everything else seemed to be the right size. I would say these days I’m a pretty true-to-size medium so it was nice to not need three different sizes like I sometimes do in Old Navy.
My wish list for spring and summer clothes is getting longer as both Gap and Old Navy are full of things I want. Even LOFT is full of some great casual stuff. I’m thinking I might swing by a LOFT dressing room one day this week. I’ll report back!
