Recently Wendy challenged us to do our morning makeup routines using only products from the drugstore. We both love drugstore makeup but admit that our typical morning routine is a little bit drugstore, a little bit high-end.
This was a fun challenge and made me realize where the drug store holes in my makeup routine are. I found that I don’t currently have a drugstore blush or eyeshadow palette that I’m loving and Wendy is loyal to her high-end setting powder.

Drugstore Products We Use and Love!
If you look carefully you’ll see that many of these products are nearly empty or very well-loved. This is no gimmick – these really are products that we use on the regular. If you look back through the Long Story Short archives you’ll see that once upon a time we bought every new release in the drug store (or at least it felt like that.) Now we focus on finding the products that we love and replacing them as needed. Although we do occasionally get sucked into a Target beauty aisle impulse purchase.

Sonia Kashuk is my fav drug store blush and I have a Pixie pallet that doubles as blush and shadow. Both from Target.
