Father’s Day sneaks up on me every single year and I’m always left feeling a little but guilty that I didn’t do more for the guy who does a lot for our family. Mark your calendar right now and take a look at this list of favorite gift ideas for the dudes.
Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19th
I can’t with the neckties, novelty t-shirts and grilling tools. I’m sick and tired of seeing some variety of these same three gifts from year to year. Aren’t you?
Sports and Entertainment Gift Ideas
My husband loves sports. Football is definitely his favorite but summer is about baseball and we love spending a couple hours at the ballpark with a beer and a hot dog. A couple of tickets to a weekend game is a great gift. Take it up a notch and order a special message for the outfield display or really swing for the fences and rent a suite for friends and family to enjoy the game. Every MLB stadium offers something unique and fun. Our local stadium sells personalized bricks that are placed in the entryway of the stadium and I think this is a perfect gift.
The 2016 Olympics are later this summer and my husband likes to represent. He will love this Nike Team USA Flag T-Shirt or this Nike Team USA Stealth T-Shirt.

Summer also brings a lot of live music to our neck of the woods. Especially, the Orange County Fair where musicians like Phillip Phillips, Train, the B-52’s and others (ok, fine…these are concerts I want to go to!). Megan’s husband loves a good concert and has a calendar filled with dates. Check out your local summer fair schedule or smaller venues for some good live music and a night out, if that’s what your guy is into.
Great Tech Gifts
Dare I suggest an Apple watch? When these came out I thought they were ridiculous but I was also the girl who thought the addition of a camera on a phone was such a stupid idea. Now it seems like everyone is wearing one. Plus, there are rumors that Apple will be debuting a new version soon so shop for prices.
For the guy that travels a lot, these wireless Beats by Dre headphones are super cool. Wireless will eventually be the only option with iPhone so get on board now.
If your husband is looking to work on his dad bod, consider the Fitbit. I’ve been eyeing the Fitbit Alta which features call, text and calendar alerts but it’s the Fitbit Blaze that really has me swooning. I like the rugged wrist watch style.
An updated Apple TV or an iPad are solid tech choices but I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I was considering either a Microsoft Xbox One or Sony Playstation 4. We’ve never really been a gaming household but we’ve been obsessed with soccer and Star Wars so I think FIFA 16 and Disney Infinity Star Wars has our name all over it.
Take it back to the old school with this Radio, Cassette, MP3 Boom Box. Megan’s husband really, really wants this! Time to dig out your mixed tapes from the plastic bins in the garage. Who remembers buying singles?
Gifts for Everyday
Get aboard the S’well train. They have so many cool options but these teakwood ones are neutral for dudes. Looking for a more affordable option? Target carries S’ip by S’well for a fraction of the price.
Keeping with drinks, does your husband like iced coffee? HyperChiller turns hot brewed coffee in iced coffee in one minute without dilution. It’s really so freaking cool. This is a must have gift for the coffee lover. Plus? It can chill wine in the same time. What?
My husband recently picked up a YETI Colster to keep his drinks cold while hanging in the backyard. It’s a double-wall insulation system that is sweat proof.
We spend a lot of time in our backyard pool and I know my husband is in need some some new trunks. I love these Volcom trunks and these Nike Yeah Buoy! trunks. I think he’d really like this basketball hoop for the pool, too.
Custom Father’s Day Gifts
Minted offers really nice custom gifts for Father’s Day. I adore the foil art prints, especially this one you can create of your child’s own art. My husband is a numbers guy and he was thrilled with my daughter’s 100% math grade. I wonder if I can foil art her exam?
Minted’s cards are exceptional, too. I think Father’s Day cards are either too goofy or too sentimental. I need something that rides the line between the two. You can create one single card and then it can be framed afterwards. Love.
