When my gal was in first grade, the class holiday party project was to decorate gingerbread men. The teacher requested that the gingerbread men be homemade and as class mom I gladly accepted the task of making 30+ homemade gingerbread men cookies.

Well, those bakery gingerbread men were “too spicy” according to Ms. Johnson’s class of cookie connoisseurs. I pretended like I couldn’t figure out what I could have done to mess up the recipe that had been handed down to the class mom year after year.
