When we published our Big Brother predictions video before the start of the season, we had grand plans to record weekly recap videos. We made it happen pretty regularly last summer, so why couldn’t we do it this year? Other than the fact that we haven’t filmed together since early June, I have no answers! I think this season is just okay. The addition of the vets made this season bearable – without them I think we would be snoozing all of the way through the summer. We were in Vegas last week courtesy of Kia so we took advantage of being in the same room and some pretty spectactular natural lighting and recorded our thoughts. Our regular filming schedule starts this week so this shouldn’t be the last.
We recorded this the night of the double eviction and so there was so much that we hadn’t yet seen. Since recording this video both Zakiya and Bridgette have gone home. Let’s talk about some of that, shall we?
Double Eviction
Corey won HOH and POV during the double eviction episode. He nominated Bridgette and Michelle (who needs to just calm down) and Bridgette goes home. This seemed like a completely wasted eviction, but he’s aligned with Paulie and the rest of the dudes and Paulie is a gigantic mess at this point. At this point we know there are things going on behind the scenes but we don’t know WHAT and since this is a live episode we don’t get any back story. This is a huge disadvantage when watching these double eviction episodes, but whatever.
Natalie vs. Paulie
In yet another case of these houseguests being unable to keep their mouths shut, Natalie tells both Zakiya and James the things Paulie has been saying. I am glad someone clued Zakiya in to the fact that Paulie is a lying liar, but there is zero chance this ends well. And it doesn’t. Paulie blows up, tears Natalie down and basically makes me strongly dislike him and hope he’s swiftly voted out this week. (Spoiler for later in the episode!) James stands up to Paulie, stands behinds Natalie and the house rallies to evict Zakiya. I’m pretty sure Paulie is only sad because Zakiya was a vote in his favor.
New HOH
Victor isn’t my favorite house guest ever since he tore down both Zakiya and Michelle in his nomination speech last week, however there’s no doubt that the dude can win competitions. He gains points in my favor for nominating Paulie and Corey next to each other. I was shocked to hear Paulie sob about the fact that Corey is his best friend in the house. Corey gets basically zero air time on the show so I had no idea the two were such bros.
PP DUNZO
Paul’s star is on the rise. Although he was on my short list of people I wanted to see evicted early, I am thrilled to see how he has turned his game around and is truly running the house and Victor’s HOH. I am equally thrilled to see the end of PP, the absolute worst alliance name in all of Big Brother. (And that’s saying something, Chilltown.)
I am getting excited for how things are going to go for the rest of the season and crossing all of my fingers and toes that Paulie goes home this week! Also on the horizon – Zingbot returns! Get excited everyone because I think Zingbot is going to bring it this week.
