When we sat down to film our August Favorites video, we looked at all of our products and realized that we had each brought an arsenal of skin-care products.
We didn’t plan this – we like our favorites to be an on-camera surprise so we can catch our genuine reactions as we love to hate each other’s favorites. In addition, we can bring anything we want for a favorites video as they’re not beauty specific, so this was a true coincidence.
Clearly we’re both on a mission for glowing skin. When you watch the video you’ll see my first favorite is a definite outlier, but it needed to be featured front and center!

Makeup can be magical, but it can only do so much. I’ve been spending a lot more time (and money) focusing on skincare, so my makeup doesn’t have to work so hard. Also, I turn 40 tomorrow and while I’m not terrified about this particular birthday, I am aware that this is the only skin I’ll get and taking care of it is a priority.
How to Get Glowing Skin
Sephora All Day Hydrator with Hyaluronic Acid – This product is from Sephora’s in house line and has earned the Clean at Sephora stamp. It also has a great price-point, so while it’s not technically a drugstore product, it won’t break the bank (like we admit some products on this list might.)
Colorescience Total 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy – Wendy has been on a long hunt for the perfect concealer and she believes she has found it in this product. It also has an SPF of 35 so it will protect the delicate under-eye skin.
Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun – We got spray tans earlier this year and we were so pleased with ourselves that we immediately became tanning at home converts. While I’ll admit that I don’t make tanning a part of my weekly routine, when I did take the time to apply this sunless tanner, it made me feel great about myself.
LaRoche Posay Double Repair Moisturizer – You know I’m a Cerave girl through and through, but Wendy swears by this moisturizer also available at Target.
Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brush Cleansing Balm – Dirty brushes are the road to breakout city. Wendy shared a different, but similar product in our video, however, it appears to no longer be available.
Sunday Riley Good Genes – You know I’m cheap as hell, so it pains me to tell you how good Good Genes really is. It doesn’t irritate my highly sensitive skin and the chemical exfoliant leaves me glowy and bright.
Drunk Elephant Brightening Duo – I picked these up prior to a trip so I would have something to use while on vacation and ended up falling in love. I use these in tandem in the morning before moisturizing and I think it gives my skin a little boost in the morning.
Becca Backlight Priming Face Filter – Okay, so most of these products are skincare related, but I couldn’t resist sharing my current favorite primer. It makes my skin feel lit from within while also holding onto my makeup during these 90-degree September days.
