We were recently invited to Miguel’s Jr. in Costa Mesa for a quick, homestyle Mexican breakfast. In addition, we were able to chat with founder, Mary Vasquez. Naturally, we went because we love Miguel’s Jr.! Their Costa Mesa location is just down the street from our favorite paint studio. We often hit the drive-thru on the way home from class. You are seriously missing out on the best fast Mexican food in Orange County if you aren’t eating at Miguel’s Jr.

Breakfast at Miguel’s Jr.
Megan ordered the house favorite: the Green Pig burrito made with marinated pork, eggs, cheddar cheese and chili verde marinated potatoes. I opted for the Sunrise burrito. A flour tortilla wrapped around bacon, eggs, cheddar cheese and chili verde marinated potatoes. The size of the burritos from Miguel’s Jr. doesn’t disappoint. Don’t forget to ask for salsa!
We enjoyed our chat with Mary. She is friendly and passionate about fresh food inspired by her childhood growing up in Central America. We learned that Miguel’s Jr. is really into giving back to the community. They are part of offering fundraiser opportunities and youth achievement awards to local schools.
Most importantly, we want to know when are they going to put a Miguel’s Jr. in south Orange County? Happily, It’s an idea they’ve been considering, but in the meantime there is a brand new drive-thru location opening in Huntington Beach. If you’re headed to or from the beach on Beach Blvd. make sure to swing by and grab some homestyle carne asada street tacos (my personal favorite!). Here’s a complete list of Miguel’s Jr. from Orange County to the Inland Empire.
