When Megan and I went to Las Vegas for a media trip last year, we stayed at a very cool hotel that had amazing sound systems in each suite. When I stopped by Megan’s room before dinner, girlfriend was blasting the soundtrack to the musical Hamilton.
I repeat, she was blasting the soundtrack to the MUSICAL Hamilton.
She was very much yin to my yang in that moment. But then, cut to last week, I found myself seriously bumping that same soundtrack from my car stereo. You guys, what did Megan do to me? Did she put some Hamilton hex on my head hoping to elevate my musical tastes. I have listened to the Hamilton soundtrack for months now. First because it’s really good and second because WE’RE GOING TO SEE HAMILTON ON BROADWAY!
In a few weeks, we’re boarding a Virgin American flight direct to New York where we’ll spend some 36 hours eating and shopping our way through the city. During this visit, we will take in the incredible writing talent of Lin-Manuel Miranda at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The soundtrack that we have both memorized up, down and sideways, will come to life in front our our eyes. Here we come, 1776!
What to Wear to Hamilton
Honestly, I have no idea what to wear to Hamilton but I do know what I want to wear before and after our trip. So, not only did Megan hex me into listening to the Hamilton soundtrack, she also wants me to purchase and wear Hamilton themed merch.
Hamilton Official Broadway Merchandise
I spotted a guy wearing this shirt recently and I searched all over the internet to find it. It is a Hamilton Official and it’s $40. A lot of the official merchandise is expensive but I’m sure we will visit the pop-up shop in Times Square while we’re there. I am already the girl who buys the concert t-shirt, so I’m sure I’ll shell out $70 for this sweatshirt. There are also mugs, pillows and the soundtrack on vinyl. I might need an extra bag for this trip.

Elly and Grace have 17 different Hamilton-themed shirts ranging from $20 – $38. I like the different styles offered, especially the LOOKING FOR A MIND AT WORK baseball t-shirt and INCLUDE WOMEN IN THE SEQUEL tank top.
Finally, Yellow Dog Tees has a handful of political themed t-shirts, including Hamilton. In an age where we still need to rise up, I love the REBELS t-shirt and the I’M WITH BURR t-shirt is amazing.
Would it embarrass Megan if I wore a Hamilton t-shirt every day we’re in New York? I mean, she’s the one who put that Hamilton voodoo on me, so if she’s horrified it is her fault.
