I recently wished that we could cancel all of our real-life obligations in the month of December and instead spend our time in front of our Christmas tree with a hot drink. Instead, I’m expected to do things like continue to make dinner and drive carpool. All joking aside, in spite of all of my careful planning, December still manages to race by in a blur. The kids still have homework with holiday concerts and classroom parties thrown in. Cards need mailing, cookies need baking, gifts need wrapping and movies need watching.
Truth be told, I love it all. I train for this season all year. My cards are in the mail, all but one gift has been purchased and my television watching has included a lot of small-town holiday festivals.
However, the thing I don’t have time for is for one of us to get sick, and that’s just about the one thing I can’t schedule ahead of time. Unfortunately, kids and adults get sick. Viruses are as common as holiday sales this time of year. Last year, three of the four of us were sick in December and that last thing I wanted to do was to sit in a doctor’s waiting room with my sick children, but sometimes you need a doctor to tell you if you need to do more than rest and hydrate. Fortunately, there’s Amwell Urgent Care so you don’t even have to leave your home in order to be seen by a doctor!
What is Amwell Urgent Care?
Amwell allows you to visit with a doctor face to face via your smartphone or computer. Visits are on-demand so you simply log on to be connected with a doctor. Doctors can offer a diagnosis, advice for further treatment options and prescribe medicine via these visits. Of course, if you are experiencing an emergency including chest pain or difficulty breathing, please visit an emergency room.
You can create an account ahead of time so that you are ready in case you should need it!
As an added bonus, you can get 50% off of your first visit fee of $69 with the code meganwendy!
We hope that you and your family stay healthy this holiday season. However, we’re so glad that Amwell exists for busy families to save you time and the exposure to a germy waiting room when someone does get sick. Follow this link to get started with Amwell today!
