Cue Megan singing, “It’s the MOST wonderful time, of the year!” because friends, it is ON. Halloween is tomorrow and I am in full-blown Christmas prep mode. One of my favorite holiday traditions is the advent calendar. I love it because my kids really get into the fun and I like that it spreads out holiday joy over the weeks leading up to Christmas. This week we are going to be sharing our favorite advent calendars and since there are advent calendars for nearly everything, we have several categories to cover. Today is all about the kids. Fortunately, merchandisers are all over the advent calendar business, so while LEGO used to be your only option for a toy based calendar, they have them for so many different interests now. Let’s jump right in!

Advent Calendars for Kids
Lego Advent Calendars – I can’t help but start with these as they are always highly sought after every holiday season. Grab them early before they sell out. Worth Noting: LEGO Advent calendars don’t come with traditional LEGO build instructions inside in order to keep each day a surprise. You can find LEGO Advent Calendar Building Instructions here. LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar
LEGO Friends Advent Calendar – The dog snowboarding, I can’t even.
– Would you just look at the Santa driving the snowblower? WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT HIM.
Disney Tsum Tsum Advent Calendar – Every single year I look at this calendar and try to talk myself out of it (because we are at critical mass with our number of advent calendars) but I just love it so.
Olaf Tsum Tsum Advent Calendar – Disney has taken things a step further with a few more themed advent calendars. This Olaf themed calendar is stealing my heart.
DC Comics Ooshies Advent Calendar – The price point on this DC Comics Tsum Tsum calendar is a little (a lot) steep, but perhaps it will go on sale. If you’ve got a comic loving kid (or adult) in your life, this is a lot of fun!
Playmobil Advent Calendar – I am SUCH a sucker for these Playmobil Advent Calendars and they have SO MANY OPTIONS.

Pandora Beads Advent Calendar – This looks really cute for the crafty kid in your life – comes with the bracelet and 23 charms!

Crayola Christmas Countdown Calendar – For the crafty kid in your life – get a small craft every day for 24 days!
Cabbage Patch Little Sprouts Advent Calendar – Certainly the good people at Cabbage Patch know that there will be plenty of people who fondly remember their own Cabbage Patch dolls and will purchase this for their children? OF COURSE THEY DO.
VTech Smart Animals Advent Calendar – If you already have any of the Smart Animals collection, they can interact with the SmartPoint included in this calendar!
Thomas and Friends Advent Calendar – Did somebody say THOMAS? This makes me want to cry because my son played with his train table everyday for two solid years. He used to blow us away with his knowledge of each and every train and his willingness to build and rebuild tracks daily. If you’ve got a train loving kid in your life, make their day with this set.
Barbie Advent Calendar – I include this calendar with a caveat – you are likely to make your accessory loving kids’ day with this calendar, but if tiny Barbie accessories are the bane of your existence, then maybe think twice about your choice. The holidays make me a little more willing to put up with more of this nonsense that is my typical threshold, but your mileage may vary on that one.
